Start with WHY - Our Driving Vision and Core Values
The Aspiration that we never tire of working towards
A working world where leaders are inspiring, managers are motivating, staff are engaged and employee wellbeing is paramount
The Core Beliefs that drive our Behaviour and Ethics
- Been there done that– if we haven’t experienced it, we don’t teach it
- “Oops, sorry”– if we ‘stuff up’ we ‘fess up’, we don’t hide behind our mistakes
- Brain-friendly throughout– everything we do is underpinned by brain-friendly learning principles
- Never stay still – we continually develop ourselves personally and professionally to be the best for you
- Be the 'Guide on the Side' not the 'Sage on the Stage'- it's not about us - we exist to facilitate your growth
Our Approach
We are committed to using the findings from Neuroscience to develop an approach to learning and development that helps us use our brain to a much greater capacity than we have done before.
We offer cutting edge, evidence-based strategies and solutions to meet the practical challenges we face on a day to day basis in our workplaces and lives to create change practices that are innovative and sustainable.
Our approach depends on your needs. Whether it’s corporate training, deep dive facilitation, executive coaching, face to face or blended, we work together to co-design a program that will directly meet your needs and achieve your outcomes, guaranteed.
Expert Facilitation
We work with Executive Leadership Teams to facilitate achieving strategic business and development outcomes using skilled facilitation techniques and processes that engage participants and keep everyone on track.
We understand that planning and achieving strategic goals and objectives is critical to business success, so we use our skills to guide, support, challenge and direct, at the right time, in the right manner.
We have been facilitating teams, from operational teams to executive leadership teams and boards, for over 20 years.
Understanding the key objectives and critical outcomes takes specific skills such as active listening, respectful challenging and questioning, directing conversation to stay on task and coaching skills to identify and refine exactly what it is you want to achieve.
The types of facilitation engagements Clare and Anne are involved in include (but are not limited to):
• Strategic business planning
• Culture change discussions
• Organisational reviews
• Start of year kick-offs
• End of year reviews
• Executive Committee (ExCo) strategy meetings
"I can honestly say I have never met someone so passionate about what they do, and it certainly came across in each and every session you facilitated. I believe this is what sets you apart from the rest.” AD Future Leader
5 Great Reasons to Use External Facilitators
If you are wondering if you need an external facilitator for your next meeting or workshop, then consider these 5 questions along with the benefits an external facilitator offers:
1. Do you need the Distraction?
It is difficult to participate fully and contribute when you are also running the session. Instead of taking the (internal) time to think about what is being said and preparing your input, your focus needs to be on the external world, taking notes, managing the process and dynamics of the session.
2. Do you have the Time?
Any session is only as good as the preparation that has gone into it. Facilitators spend quality time upfront identifying your needs (what do you want to get out of the time together?) and designing the best way to get there. Pre-work enables the real work to start outside of the session and ensures the session is then more productive, efficient and effective.
3. Do you have the Interest?
For many people, facilitation is just another task on their already busy to-do list. Agendas get written quickly to tick a box. External facilitators have the expertise to structure the flow, build in participation, use precious time wisely and create a structured journey to achieve the desired outcomes.
4. Are you Independent enough?
It is not easy to stay independent when important subjects are being discussed. When you have your own input to share on a topic, how can you remain (and more importantly be seen to be) independent and enable an objective discussion? External providers bring their independence along with skills in dealing with conflict to enable people to share and respect different perspectives and keep discussions on track.
5. Are you able to manage Different Personalities?
Having existing relationships with people in the session can make it harder to play a neutral role. Managing the interpersonal dynamics is not for the faint-hearted. Strong personalities can dominate and intimidate, quiet people can go unheard and ideas lost, people talk over others, side conversations happen. External facilitators are trained to manage these dynamics and make sure everyone stays focused, has their say and feels their views have been heard and respected.
Psychometric Profiling and Assessment Tools
We are accredited in a range of self-assessment and 360 degree tools that help individuals and team members to develop their self-awareness and understand others at a deeper level.
Increasing Awareness and Understanding of Self and Others through Profiling
We know that the ability to be self-aware is a key component of Emotional Intelligence and it is also crucial for contributing to our own personal journey of development. The tools we use are described below. Each tool is supported by coaching to debrief the assessment and to plan the follow-up development.
Anne and Clare are accredited in a number of profiling tools and work with you to establish which will be the most effective for you as individuals or team members.
We also work with you in a coaching capacity so that you get the most from the tools long after our programs have finished.
Executive Coaching
We operate both as executive coaches and facilitators of coaching development programs designed to equip existing and emerging leaders to develop their people using highly effective coaching skills.
If you look to the world of elite sports, you probably won’t find a single athlete or team without a coach, yet the same can’t be said for business. In our experience, organisations and individuals are also striving to be the best they can be and we firmly believe that coaching can be a path to higher levels of performance and success.
It takes vision and courage to choose to work with a coach and step up to the next level of performance and coaching can provide the right level of support and challenge on that development journey.
